Green joined Boston from Welling United in the summer following their promotion to the National League, and he has seamlessly made the step up to the fifth tier this season.

The 26-year-old has been a virtual ever-present for the Pilgrims this campaign, with all but one of his 43 league appearances coming from the start, and as well as helping his side to 10 clean sheets, he has also chipped in with two goals and five assists from left-back.

After a tough first half of the season, Boston were 10 points adrift of safety in mid-January with just 16 points to their name, but Green and his team-mates have produced a stunning turnaround in recent months.

Graham Coughlin's side have won 12 and drawn three of their last 20 games to pull clear of danger, with only champions Barnet picking up more points in the same time period, and they secured survival with a 2-1 home win over play-off chasing Gateshead on Saturday.

While Boston will be celebrating the fact that they will be playing another season in the National League, it seems their impressive form has not gone unnoticed, and Green is one player who has caught the eye of other clubs.

FLW has been told that, in addition to Mansfield and Crewe, Barrow, Tranmere Rovers and Newport County are all eyeing moves for Green on a free transfer this summer, while his former club Bromley are also keen to bring him back to Hayes Lane.

It is not the first time Green has attracted attention from elsewhere, with Yeovil Town said to have made an offer for him in January, but the defender, who has previously spent time on the books of Reading, Braintree Town, Wrexham and St Albans City, could now be set to get an opportunity to ply his trade in the EFL.

Green is out of contract at the Jakemans Community Stadium this summer, so Boston may find it difficult to hold on to him, particularly with interest mounting from higher levels.

Despite a poor second half of the season, Mansfield managed to secure safety in League One, while Crewe, Barrow, Bromley, Newport and Tranmere are looking ahead to another season in League Two next term, and they are all plotting a summer swoop for Green.

When Green joined Boston in the summer, he stated that he was looking forward to playing the attacking role he had been asked to perform, and he has certainly delivered, coming up with some important goals and assists for Coughlin's men this season.

However, after conceding way too many goals in the first half of the season, the Pilgrims' rise up the table in recent months has been built upon improved defensive solidity, and Green has helped to tighten his side up at the back on their way to survival.

As he reaches the end of his contract at the Jakemans Community Stadium, it seems that Green has no shortage of suitors this summer, and with a host of EFL clubs circling, he has a big decision to make on his next move.
