Shifting focus back towards matters in La Liga, the Blaugrana have made the trip to the Estadio José Zorrilla, for a meeting with the aforementioned Real Valladolid.

Owing to both their upcoming Champions League semi-final 2nd leg clash with Inter Milan, and Valladolid’s status as already relegated from Spain’s top-flight, heavy rotation is expected on the part of Barca boss Hansi Flick on Saturday.

As much had given rise to suggestions that the aforementioned Pablo Torre could be afforded a rare starting berth.

Not only will this not be the case, though, but the 21-year-old has not even been called up for the fixture.

And as alluded to above, an explanation for precisely why has since been provided.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s social media platforms on Saturday afternoon:

‘First-team player Pablo Torre is experiencing discomfort in his left knee. His return to the team will be decided based on his progress.’
