Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas denied making a comparison between two English talents as he made a post on his X profile to claim the quotes he was credited with are ‘fake’.
Specifically, Fabregas retweeted a post from another user who quoted him as saying that Chelsea star Cole Palmer wouldn’t be a starter at ‘any EPL top six’, while Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka would be worthy of a starting spot ‘in every team on the universe’.
The alleged comparison further fueled up a rivalry between two sides Fabregas both played for, but the current Como coach posted a reply denying to have ever pronounced those words, adding that Palmer and Saka are both ‘amazing talents’ and that England are ‘lucky’ to have them.
According to the false quotes, Fabregas said: “I assure you that Palmer cannot get a starting spot at any EPL top 6 except maybe Manchester United and Tottenham. Saka walks in every team on the Universe. For me this debate is irrelevant.”
However, the Como manager retweeted the original post and added: “The danger of social media is people really believe anything they read. No need to compare players, England are lucky to have 2 amazing talents, just enjoy them! #Fake!”

Fabregas played for Arsenal between 2004 and 2011 and then moved from Barcelona to Chelsea in 2014, winning two Premier League titles under José Mourinho and Antonio Conte respectively.
