Liverpool are in the market for a centre back this summer with Lille’s Leny Yoro top of the list of potential incomings.
It is acknowledged that the 18-year-old has a preference for Real Madrid but the Reds are nonetheless reported to be ready to pick up the pieces in case Los Blancos fail to get a deal done.
Others such as Murillo and David Hancko have spoken out on potential Liverpool interest with Nottingham Forest’s Murillo describing a transfer to Anfield as a ‘good opportunity’.

Hancko, meanwhile, who worked under Arne Slot at Feyenoord has suggested that he doesn’t fit the profile for the kind of player Liverpool are looking for this summer.
With Joel Matip out of contract and Virgil van Dijk’s terms expiring in 2025, it would be a surprise if the Reds failed to move for a centre back this summer.
Further links exist to the likes of Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie but it’s understood the club are not pursuing those avenues right now.
Another player associated with a potential Anfield arrival is England international Marc Guehi.
The Crystal Palace stopper has been in great form for his club and has been excellent at Euro 2024 for his country too.
Now renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has acknowledged Liverpool’s interest in the 23-year-old, who has two years remaining on his Palace deal.
Romano has also commented on reports that ANOTHER Liverpool centre back, Joe Gomez, was linked with Newcastle as part of an Anthony Gordon swap deal and insists that the Guehi situation is unlikely to be resolved until after the European Championship.
“It’s been a quiet summer for Liverpool so far, but we know there was recently interest in Anthony Gordon, and there has been some speculation about a failed attempt at agreeing a swap deal with Newcastle,” Romano told Caught Offside.
“Some outlets have reported that Joe Gomez was one of the names being offered by Liverpool to Newcastle, but I can’t confirm this.
“Newcastle and Liverpool had a contact for Gordon, as reported a few days ago, but a swap deal was never something close or concrete, so I don’t have this information I’m afraid.
“In terms of names coming in for the defence, Marc Guehi has been linked with Liverpool (as well as other clubs) several times and he’s impressing with England at the Euros.
“There is interest from many clubs, but nothing close or concrete yet as he wants to focus on the tournament now and not be distracted. For sure Guehi remains an interesting name for this summer with two years left on his contract at Crystal Palace.”
