As per Voetbal International, Ajax worked towards Sunday’s possible championship-deciding match against NEC Nijmegen under the watchful eye of Marek Hamsik.
The former footballer, who played more than four hundred matches in the Serie A and 138 international matches for Slovakia, took a look behind the scenes at Ajax coach Francesco Farioli. Aleksandar Kolarov was also there, as the group of prospective coaches received a presentation from Farioli after the training session.
Ajax reported on the club website that Hamsik is working on obtaining the necessary papers for a training diploma, with this including a reuqirement of watching another trainer.
Hamsik went to Amsterdam and was greeted by Farioli and Turkish defender Ahmetcan Kaplan, with whom he had played with at Trabzonspor. Hamsik stopped playing football two years ago and is now a youth trainer in his home country.
Ajax will play NEC at the Johan Cruyff Arena next Sunday and could possibly become champions in that match. If PSV lose to Feyenoord in De Kuip earlier on Sunday, a win will be enough for Ajax to clinch their 37th national title.
