La Liga leaders FC Barcelona are reportedly interested in Marcus Rashford should he leave Manchester United this summer.
The Englishman has enjoyed a better year this season, already scoring seven goals in all competitions, including three Premier League goals under Ruben Amorim.
Despite an uptick in form, news broke this week that United may be prepared to sell the forward amid concerns over his lifestyle off the pitch.
Whilst there have also been reports that United have taken no such decision on the player, any sale would aid United’s precarious PSR situation substantially.
Paris Saint-Germain have been the team most frequently linked to the winger in the past but according to GIVEMESPORT, another European giant is very much in the mix.
Sources have told the website that “Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been contemplating whether to leave Old Trafford over the course of the last 12 months and could be offered an exit route by La Liga heavyweights Barcelona if the opportunity for him to embark on a fresh challenge opens up.”
It is reported that Rashford has begun to have “reservations” about his future at the club over the last year and this has alerted Barcelona.
The 27 year old is reportedly beginning to doubt whether staying at his boyhood club is best for his career, as he is not an automatic starter any more and the team cannot compete for the top honours in English and European football.
“GMS sources have been informed that La Liga table-toppers Barcelona are likely to emerge as top contenders to sign Rashford if he leaves Manchester United in 2025,” the outlet claims.
Nonetheless, they stress that the England international’s future will not be determined by his off the pitch antics and more so by his ability to fit successfully into Ruben Amorim’s new 3-4-3 formation.
United were reportedly open to selling Rashford for £70 million in the summer but he decided to stay at the club.
Barcelona would “look into a potential deal more closely if they suspect he could be acquired after previously being sceptical about tempting him away from Manchester United”, while Paris Saint-Germain may “resurrect” previous interest in the forward, should he signal that he does in fact want to leave the team.
