One of the days most remembered by soccer players and fans in general, of course, is the moment of the debut. However, it is not at all common for two players, who have gone on to make their mark in Guadalajara's recent history, to share the same debut date.

That is the case of Omar Bravo and Héctor Reynoso, who emerged from the Rojiblanca youth academy and played their first minutes in the top flight in the same match. It was on February 17, 2001, when the Rebaño Sagrado took to the field at the Estadio Universitario to play Day 8 of the Summer Tournament.

With Jorge 'Vikingo' Dávalos as interim coach, the Rojiblancos started with a young Reynoso in the central backline, who helped to maintain defensive solidity and keep Oswaldo Sánchez's goal at zero.

In the second half, with 61' on the clock, Dávalos replaced Héctor Valenzuela with the goal of accompanying Juan Pablo 'Pato' Alfaro in the midfield.

After 90 minutes of intense play, Chivas and Tigres played to a scoreless draw. However, that duel in the Sultana del Norte left us with the first memory of the top scorer in the history of Deportivo Guadalajara, as well as one of the best-remembered captains of the Rojiblanco team in recent times.

This is how February 17 went down in the history of Club Deportivo Guadalajara, since two great players had their first minutes with the Rojiblanca.

Who would have thought that this young player from Sinaloa would become the top scorer in the history of Chivas with 160 official goals, in addition to winning 1 Liga MX, 1 Copa MX and 1 Supercopa MX. How could we have imagined that the lanky center back would be a key player in winning the 2006 Clausura Championship and that he would also have the necessary stature to lead the Rebaño Sagrado's defense for more than 13 years.
