In an interview ahead of Italy’s UEFA Nations League clash against Belgium, as reported by FCInterNews, Comuzzo discussed the privilege of defending the national team’s colors.

After going from strength to strength in Florence this season, Comuzzo has earned his maiden senior call-up from Luciano Spalletti.

Along with Juventus’ Nicolo Savona, he’s the latest defensive addition to the new-look Gli Azzurri side.

Indeed, Spalletti is hellbent on injecting fresh blood into his squad following a dismal EURO 2024 campaign.

While he’s sticking to his first-team regulars, he’s willing to give a chance to up-and-coming Serie A talents.

Therefore, Monza’s Daniel Maldini made the cut last month.

Now, it’s Comuzzo’s turn to showcase his quality on the international stage.

“I feel more comfortable in marking, in duels, that’s what excites me the most,” Comuzzo stated.

“However, I don’t want to limit myself; I want to become concrete and improve technically and in the build-up phase.”

Playing alongside Alessandro Bastoni and Riccardo Calafiori could be a significant factor in the youngster’s development.

They’ll share the dressing room on the national team in the coming days.

Subsequently, Comuzzo insists he’s eager to learn from his senior international colleagues.

“I want to learn from players like Alessandro Bastoni and Riccardo Calafiori.

“I want to become a complete defender, trying to address my biggest flaws.”

Meanwhile, Comuzzo will likely be Bastoni’s understudy in the upcoming Nations League fixtures.

Italy will encounter Belgium on Thursday in the penultimate group-stage outing, looking to uphold their unbeaten record in Group A2.

Indeed, Spalletti’s men head into proceedings as table-toppers after winning three of their first four matches.

Therefore, avoiding defeat in Brussels would secure them a spot in the Nations League quarter-finals.
