Fiorentina have reportedly made an offer worth €10m plus bonuses to Sparta Prague for Czech international defender Martin Vitik.
According to Calciomercato.com, the proposal was presented this weekend and is not yet considered sufficient for a deal, but negotiations are set to continue.
The centre-back might only be 21 years of age, but he has already been linked with a Serie A move before to Napoli last year, where he was considered one of the candidates as a replacement for Kim Min-jae.
He also has two senior caps for Czechia and is a product of the Sparta Prague youth academy, promoted to the senior squad in January 2021.
Fiorentina are seeking reinforcements at the back and could sell Nikola Milenkovic in the summer.
The Viola are also expected to transform their tactics under new coach Raffaele Palladino, who already hinted at a three-man defence after three years of Vincenzo Italiano’s 4-3-3 and variations thereof.
