Flamengo breeze past ABC in first-leg of Copa do Brasil tie | OneFootball

Flamengo hold a comfortable aggregate lead against ABC in the Copa do Brasil after a 6-0 win in the first-leg of their Round of 16 clash on Thursday.

Flamengo hosted ABC at the Maracanã and dominated the match throughout both halves.

It took a while for the hosts to break the deadlock waiting until the 28th minute when Giorgian De Arrascaeta found the back of the net.

With a 1-0 lead, the flood gates then opened for Flamengo. A brace from Gabriel Barbosa and one goal from Bruno Henrique made it 4-0 at the break.

Coming into the second half, Flamengo kept the pressure up looking to add more to the scoresheet but ABC’s backline stood strong.

Eventually, an own goal from Donato Antonio Silva Neto made it 5-0 and Michael added the sixth late in the match.

The second leg will take place on 5 August.
