The forward, who officially sealed a move to the Terriers earlier this month after training with the club since November, was introduced as a substitute in their FA Cup clash with Preston North End last weekend.
Kamberi marked his debut by scoring the opening goal of this particular fixture as he fired an effort past Lilywhites goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.
An own-goal from Tom Lees allowed Preston to level proceedings before Kamberi’s goal-bound effort was blocked by Bambo Diaby.
Diaby then gave the Lilywhites the lead in spectacular fashion as he rifled a shot into the top corner.
Alan Browne sealed victory for Preston by scoring their third goal of the afternoon in the 85th minute.
Having been eliminated from the FA Cup, Huddersfield will now be focusing on trying to climb out of the relegation zone in the Championship in the coming weeks.
Kamberi is expected to make his second appearance for the club when they take on Hull City on Saturday.
After his side’s defeat to Preston, Kamberi decided to share a message with Huddersfield’s supporters on Instagram.
The Verdict
Whereas Kamberi was unable to prevent his side from losing to Preston, he did manage to show some encouraging signs in this particular fixture.
By building upon this display in Huddersfield’s upcoming league clashes, the forward could go on to establish himself as a key member of the club’s squad.
The Terriers have lacked a cutting edge in an attacking sense this season as they have only managed to score 24 goals in the Championship.
Yet to play a game in the second-tier during his career, it will be interesting to see whether Kamberi will be able to immediately adapt to the competitiveness that this league is famed for.
Huddersfield will be hoping that Kamberi will be able to provide some firepower as they aim to avoid relegation to League One.
