It is almost assumed that Maghnes Akliouche (23) will leave formative club AS Monaco this season. Selling their brightest prospects is part of the life cycle at Monaco and amid interest from Manchester City, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain, the time may have come for the club to release their latest star asset.
However, speaking at an interview attended by Get French Football News, Thiago Scuro insisted that the club won’t be giving the France youth international away, who is thought to be available for around €70m.
“For him to go, we have expectations. I think players at his level, not so many clubs can sign him. To go or to stay, both possibilities could be good for him,” said Scuro, who added that he has also spoken with the player, advising him to be intelligent with his next move, if indeed he is to leave the club. “I’ve spoken with him – he needs to be clever with his decision. If he leaves, it has to be to a club that suits his playing style… the club needs to trust him. Needs to have similar respect, which he has here,” he added.
