Lommel have announced that Steve Bould has stepped down as head coach of the club. The former Arsenal man is returning to the United Kingdom due to family reasons and so agreed to end his collaboration with the second tier side. Bould had been with the club, which is part of the wider City Group family, for two and a half seasons. Last year he guided the side to the play-off final where they missed out on relegation after a defeat over two legs to Kortrijk.
Lommel were once again hoping to push for promotion, but they have struggled so far this season. They are 21 points off of the league leaders Zulte Waregem, while the gap to the second automatic promotion spot is at 15 points. They are only three points off of the play-off places, their only real prospect of making it into the Pro League. The side are on a terrible winless run that stretches back five games. Their last win was a 3-1 win over Club NXT at the start of November.
