Former Everton midfielder André Gomes undergoing medical ahead of Lille return | OneFootball

As per L’Équipe and Foot Mercato, former Everton midfielder André Gomes (31) is currently undergoing a medical ahead of a return to Lille OSC.

Gomes spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Lille, making 27 appearances for the Ligue 1 club in that time. Whilst he returned to Everton at the end of the loan, he struggled for game time during the final year of his contract. The Toffees chose not to renew the Portugal international’s deal and since July, he has been available on a free transfer.

With the transfer window now closed and with UEFA Champions League football looming, LOSC have decided to bring Gomes back to the club. L’Équipe and Foot Mercato understand that the former Everton midfielder is undergoing his medical on Friday morning.

Should he pass that medical, Gomes would then sign a two-year deal with Les Dogues, tying him to the club until the summer of 2026.
