Serie B side Salernitana have announced the signing of midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide, a former Arsenal prospect, on a two-year deal until June 2026.

This move comes after a challenging year for the 26-year-old, who suffered a scare during a match in May.

The Italian club’s official statement confirming the signing highlighted Reine-Adelaide‘s strength and versatility, noting his experience at top clubs like Arsenal and Lyon, as well as his appearances in the Champions League and Europa League.

Reine-Adelaide‘s journey in football began at Lens‘ youth system, followed by a move to Arsenal in 2015.

He made eight senior appearances for the Gunners before departing for Angers in 2018.

His subsequent career saw him play for Lyon, Nice, and Troyes, before joining Belgian side Molenbeek last season.

His time at Molenbeek was cut short by a frightening incident during a match in May when he was knocked unconscious and rushed to hospital.

Initial fears of a brain haemorrhage were thankfully dispelled, and Reine-Adelaide was reported to be stable after undergoing medical tests.

Despite the positive outcome, the incident effectively ended his season with Molenbeek, and he was released by the club this summer.

Reine-Adelaide‘s move to Salernitana marks a fresh start for the talented midfielder.

The club’s statement expressed their hope that he would establish himself in Italy, where he has hopefully found a home.

He will wear the number 19 shirt, a first for The Jeff who has also worn the numbers 3, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 17, 22, 29, 31, 35, 54, and 77 in his career.
