Tottenham Hotspur's defensive ranks have been stretched thin this season, with injuries leaving their backline in disarray.
Among those called upon to fill the gaps is Radu Dragusin, a summer signing who arrived in January 2024 for a club-record €25 million.
The 22-year-old Romanian has been thrust into regular action, but his future at Spurs has become a topic of increasing speculation.
Dragusin's time at Tottenham has been a mixed bag. While he's been a regular presence in the squad due to injuries to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, questions about his long-term place in the club's future have emerged.
As the season progresses, it seems that Tottenham will face some tough decisions regarding the young defender.

According to Tottenham News and quoted by The Boy Hotspur, former Spurs scout Bryan King commented on the situation, stating, "They can’t cash in on him at the moment. Therefore, I can’t see him leaving until the end of the season."
King’s comments reflect the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Dragusin’s future at Tottenham.
"He has only just joined the football club, whether it was a mistake to sign him, that is still under scrutiny," King added. "For me, when you lose those two main centre-backs, he is not your immediate answer. However, they’re going to have to stick with him until the end of the season."
However, Dragusin has shown moments of promise but has also faced difficulties, including a red card on his Europa League debut against Qarabag.
Despite these setbacks, Dragusin has provided valuable depth to a squad that has been struggling to cope with numerous injuries.
His performances have not been without challenges. The team's aggressive style of play, coupled with an ongoing injury crisis, has left Dragusin vulnerable in a defence already under pressure.
Since his arrival, Dragusin has featured prominently, making 19 appearances across all competitions and starting 17 of those matches.
While Dragusin's immediate future is secure for now, with Spurs needing his services during this injury crisis, his longer-term role at the club remains unclear.
With key defenders still sidelined, Tottenham cannot afford to lose Dragusin midseason, but his performance over the coming months will likely dictate whether he remains a part of Postecoglou’s plans beyond this season.
