Four Liverpool Starlets Who Would Benefit from Multi-Club Model

Liverpool have one of the best academies in England, and the multi-club model could help them harness the full potential of their youth set-up.

The Reds are set to be the latest Premier League club to adopt the model, following in the footsteps of Chelsea, Manchester City, Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion and others.

Whichever clubs they acquire, having a ‘feeder club’ network would be a massive boost for Liverpool’s talent-studded academy.

They have several talented wonderkids in system who could save them millions of pounds in future transfer fees. Here are four who could benefit from the multi-club model.

Rio Ngumoha

Rio Ngumoha’s move to Liverpool in 2024 annoyed Chelsea fans, and the ill feeling could spiral if the talented forward becomes a world-beater at Anfield.

The 16-year-old is considered one of the brightest young talents in English football and has shown no signs of slowing down since joining Liverpool’s youth set-up.

As if that wasn’t enough blow for the Blues, the English forward made history in January when he became the youngest player to start a senior match for Liverpool.

Ngumoha could be the biggest winner from the multi-club model. There is no doubt he’s on the path to stardom, but he needs regular first-team football at a top level.

If he is shipped off to a sister club, it would greatly improve his chances of breaking into the first team in the not-so-distant future.

Keyrol Figueroa

Keyrol Figueroa has been a standout performer for Liverpool at youth level, but first-team opportunities have been hard to come by.

To make matters worse, he hasn’t even been named in the first-team squad, but the potential multi-club network could open new doors for him.

The 18-year-old is the son of former Wigan Athletic and Hull City star Maynor Figueroa, who bagged 181 caps for Honduras during his career.

The Liverpool talent has instead chosen to represent the United States at international level and has already done so with the Under-17s, U19s and U20s.

Figueroa is widely regarded as one of America’s brightest talents, but it hasn’t been enough to earn him a spot in the first team. For a young striker, the multi-club model could be a major step forward.

He’d get more opportunities to play senior football at a decent level elsewhere and continue his development while boosting his chances of breaking into Liverpool’s first team.

Trey Nyoni

After making waves in Liverpool’s youth set-up, Trey Nyoni has been rewarded with a handful of senior appearances.

Nyoni has been turning heads since he joined Liverpool from Leicester City’s academy in 2023, earning praise for his maturity and composure at such a young age.

Liverpool may consider acquiring a club in Australia’s A-League as part of their growing interest in a multi-club model. If they go through with it, Nyoni could be one of the biggest winners.

Any A-League team Nyoni joins would be getting a future world-beater, and his addition would spark a wagering frenzy among Liverpool fans in Australia.

His flair, vision, technique and brilliance on the ball make him a player to watch, and the club he joins would become a popular pick on international betting sites in Australia each week.

Nyoni would bet on himself to thrive in the A-League, and a sparkling loan spell would make him hard to ignore when he returns to Merseyside.

Kornel Misciur

Liverpool’s interest in establishing a multi-club model could also work in favour of talented goalkeeper Kornel Misciur.

The 17-year-old received an opening to rise to fame for the U21 side when Harvey Davies picked up a red card, and he gobbled up the chance.

He has taken youth football by storm since then and has been heavily touted to push higher up the ladder in the near future.

Misciur is already being integrated into Liverpool’s first-team training, but the multi-club model could help him to expedite that progression.

Even though he’s highly rated, he needs regular first-team football at a top level to bolster his chances of becoming Liverpool’s future number one.

Misciur is making his mark, but the club’s evolving structure could help take him even further.
