Striker Marcus Thuram has come in for some criticism for a “sloppy” and “indolent” performance in yesterday’s match between Inter Milan and Cagliari.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, argue that the Frenchman was poor after coming on in the second half.
Marcus Thuram came on for Lautaro Martinez midway through the second half yesterday.
The 27-year-old had gotten a rest from the start of the Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Cagliari.
However, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi called upon Thuram to help the team see out the match.

However, the Corriere argue, Thuram was nowhere near up to par in the match.
All of Inter’s other strikers certainly understood the assignment.
Marko Arnautovic had a show-stealing performance, with a goal and an assist in the first half.
And Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez got his usual goal against Cagliari.
Meanwhile, Joaquin Correa did very well off the bench. Whilst he did not manage to score or assist a goal, he looked no less sharp and lively than Arnautovic and Martinez had.
On the other hand, as soon as Thuram came on, the level of. Inter’s attack just seemed to drop a couple notches.
