Freiburg extend contract of veteran midfielder | OneFootball

SC Freiburg have announced a contract extension for experienced midfielder Nicolas Höfler.

The club and the player have agreed not to disclose the length of the new contract.

"Chicco' and Sport-Club - this is an extraordinary relationship in many respects," said Freiburg CEO Jochen Saier.

“With his experience and highly professional approach, he continues to be a pillar of our team, and off the pitch 'Chicco' takes on responsibilities in the team council. We are delighted that this collaboration will continue.”

The 34-year-old, who joined Freiburg's academy as a 15-year-old, commented:

“SC Freiburg has been my sporting home for almost 20 years - and yet I'm not looking back, I'm looking forward. I really want to make a difference here with the boys and achieve our goals. I will do everything I can to achieve that and I am delighted with this contract extension.”
