Manchester City have finalised an agreement with one Bundesliga side to send right-back talent Issa Kabore on loan for the second-half of the ongoing season.

The 23-year-old spent the majority of last summer training with Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad at the City Football Academy, either side of the four-game tour of the east coast of the United States.

Kabore was not granted opportunity to join the squad on tour, but was part of the contingent that defeated Manchester United in the FA Community Shield clash at Wembley Stadium, as well as being named in the matchday roster against Ipswich in the Premier League.

The defender did leave Pep Guardiola impressed during training sessions, with club camera operators capturing one action in which the Manchester City manager exclaimed in front of the first-team group, “Issa, you’re a full-back and you want to score, I love you!”

However, no further love would be shown that would see Kabore remain at Manchester City, and a season-long loan move to SL Benfica was agreed, but ultimately failed to bring success and the player has since been recalled to reassess his immediate future.

Now, according to the information of market expert Fabrizio Romano, Werder Bremen have agreed a deal to sign Issa Kaboré on loan from City for the remainder of the season, after the defender was recalled early from his spell with Benfica due to a lack of game time.

Kaborè signed his first professional contract with Belgian side KV Mechelen in August 2019, before signing for Manchester City the following summer and remaining at Mechelen on loan for the season.

Joining City Football Group side Troyes on loan for the 2021/22 season, Kabore would then agree to another temporary deal with Marseille for the 2022/23 season, and newly promoted Premier League club Luton on a season-long loan for the 2023/24 campaign.

At this particular juncture in the player’s career, it is highly unlikely that Issa Kabore will not have a long-term future at Manchester City, and the English champions will be wanting to see an up-turn in his fortunes and generate a profit in future via a permanent sale.
