SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic – The United States won 3-nil against England in the third place match of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Sunday at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The bronze medal finish places the United States back in the podium for the first time since the inaugural 2008 edition.

Kennedy Fuller struck the opening goal in the 24’ with a header inside the box. The U.S. midfielder brought her tally to four goals to close her campaign.

U.S. goalkeeper Evan O'Steen also stood out, blocking a long shot by English defender Nelly Las in the 33’, on her way to collecting her fourth clean sheet of the tournament.

Ainsley McCammon extended the lead for the Stars and Stripes in the 72’ with a powerful right-footed shot inside the penalty arc that landed in the bottom right corner.

Maddie Padelski added a third goal for the U.S. in the 90’+2, connecting with an O'Steen goal kick and racing behind the English defense to strike a composed finish in the final moments of the match.
