Turkish giants Galatasaray are prepared to table an official offer for Jadon Sancho as Manchester United prepare for the 25-year-old winger’s return this summer, according to a report.

The Red Devils thought they had finally seen the last of Sancho after agreeing a loan move with an obligation clause with rival Chelsea.

The obligation would be triggered if the Blues finished 15th or higher in the Premier League table and would be worth between £20-25 million, depending on their final position.

With Enzo Maresca’s side currently 4th and having been mathematically clear of 15th since last month, United fans would be forgiven for having already celebrated Sancho’s permanent switch to Stamford Bridge.

But Chelsea retain the option to renege on the obligation to buy if they pay a £5 million “penalty” fee to United, essentially converting the move into a twelve month loan deal.

And The Sun reveals “Chelsea are understood to be ready” to activate this clause, meaning Ruben Amorim will be forced to welcome back “another player he knows the club do not want.”

However, a number of clubs have expressed an interest in signing Sancho after this unexpected development, including clubs in Turkey and Germany.

Fenerbahce were mooted as a potential option but face competition from fierce rival Galatasaray, as relayed by The Peoples Person here.

A return to Borussia Dortmund has also been suggested as an option while Bayer Leverkusen are keeping one eye on Sancho as a potential replacement for Florian Wirtz.

But The Sun now reveals Galatasaray, who became Turkish champions on Sunday after a 3-0 win over Kayserispor left them seven points clear of second place with just two games to go, are “ready to come in with a bid” to win the race for the English winger.

With one year remaining on his deal with United following his £73 million move from Dortmund in 2021, Sancho’s ‘book value’ at Old Trafford is £14.6 million, meaning any deal agreed beyond this price would count as a PSR boost for the Red Devils.

Galatasaray are braced to lose star striker Victor Osimhen, on loan from Napoli, at the end of the season with United suggested as a possible destination for the Nigerian international.

But with a Super Lig title to defend, and the prospect of Champions League football next season, the Turkish giant would need a statement signing this summer to mitigate Osimhen’s departure, and Sancho could provide exactly that.
