Juventus defender Federico Gatti is on the verge of signing off on a new, long-term contract extension with the Bianconeri, according to reports the morning after his stunning display in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Gatti was a rock at the back for Juventus as they recorded their 12th clean sheet in 21 matches against Pep Guardiola’s side at the Allianz Stadium.
A traditional centre-back’s performance, Gatti managed to block practically everything that came his way, and also earned comparisons to former Italy legend Giorgio Chiellini in the process.

Talks over a contract renewal have been going on in the background for some time already, and ilbianconero.com report that the 26-year-old is the next player in line to extend their contract with Juventus. An announcement could reportedly arrive in the new year.
Though the specific details have not yet been confirmed, Thursday’s reports suggest that the Bianconeri defender will likely extend his stay until 2029, possibly with the option of an additional year. His current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2028.
As part of the new deal, Gatti will likely receive an increase in wages from his current salary of around €1.4m per season to upwards of €2m a year.
