Even before new coach Hansi Flick came along, there was a lot of optimism regarding this current Barcelona team. This kind of positivity surrounding this team was not just based on results or sporting matters, but also based on the entire vibe of this group of players. From the emerging leaders to the superstars in the making, this Barcelona team truly felt special.

To prove that point, there are countless examples and tales that can be told and expressed. From their constant support for one another and welcoming any and all who join their ranks, this Barcelona team felt like a family more than a team, and that continues to be true even under Hansi Flick.

While Xavi Hernandez himself was an affectionate and passionate coach, Flick continues that trend of possessing a heart of gold for his players but with a stern hand that does not entertain complacency. However, in recent weeks, yet another gesture of gold came from one Barcelona teammate to another.

As revealed in the latest report from Miguel Rico (h/t Barca Times), Barcelona youngster Fermin Lopez received an unforgettable gesture from fellow La Masia talent Gavi just as he got injured again while returning from his previous ailment. This gesture involved the former Golden Boy winner being the first one to break out the news to Lopez and also console him.

Following his injury, this time one that impacted his left thigh after he had just recovered from the same injury in his right thigh, Fermin Lopez was rushed to the medical center at the Ciutat Esportiva. Right afterwards, at the end of that same training session, the player was greeted by some of his Barcelona teammates and even a remorseful Hansi Flick who gave a huge embrace to the injured player.

Not too long after that, while others were waiting for the doctor’s diagnosis of his injury, Gavi managed to sneak through to him and consoled the player while revealing to him what he knew regarding the injury. Through these actions, both Gavi and the rest of the player’s Barcelona teammates continue to show why this team feels like a family.

Fortunately for Lopez, it seems that the club has no plans on giving up on him and instead are well-aware of the joy he will bring to them in the future. For this reason, Barcelona reportedly even reached an agreement with the player to extend and improve his current contract and ensure that he stays with the Catalan outfit moving forward.
