Ismael Bennacer has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer and AC Milan have already made the price tag clear: €50m. As highlighted by a report, this is the value of the release clause in his contract.

The 2023-24 season was not the best for Bennacer, missing half of it due to knee surgery before failing to find consistency. As such, he’s not considered unsellable by Milan but they won’t give him up for free either, knowing that he has a contract until 2027.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan will only let the midfielder leave if a club pays the €50m release clause. They are not wiling to let him leave for anything less and this has already been communicated to the Saudi Arabian clubs interest.

In particular, Al-Ittihad have expressed an interest although it seems Stefano Pioli won’t be taking over the side. Should Bennacer leave, then the proceeds from the sale – between the release clause and wages saved – would be reinvested on the mercato.

Ben Jacobs reported yesterday that Bennacer is open to a move, so everything depends on the Saudi clubs and their willingness to sign the player.
