Some good news has arrived regarding the condition of Santiago Gimenez after he was forced off during the game against Fiorentina.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport recall, Gimenez played only 25 minutes in Saturday night’s game against Fiorentina as he came on in the 55th minute and then was forced off 10 minutes from the end with a bang on the hip.

He underwent an MRI scan yesterday which ruled out any problems with his left side, having been strongly bumped by David De Gea when he came out to clear a ball. The former Feyenoord player tried to grit his teeth, but after a handful of seconds he collapsed to the ground touching his side.

The fact that there are no rib injuries, but that the problem is at a muscular level, does not exclude his presence on Friday in Udine. We will have to see when the pain will disappear and when the Mexico international will return to full training with the rest of the squad.

The knee discomfort that forced Tammy Abraham off is not a cause for concern even if – like the other starters on Saturday – the Englishman did solo gym work yesterday. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was present at the session and spoke with Sergio Conceiçao and greeted the players.
