Fikayo Tomori has ended up in the sights of Juventus following the serious injury of Gleison Bremer. As such, AC Milan fans are fearing another Pierre Kalulu-esque transfer, although it remains unlikely according to a report.
Kalulu left Milan in the summer as there was no more room on the squad list, with the management and Paulo Fonseca preferring Emerson Royal instead. Since then, the Frenchman has done really well for Juventus, rubbing salt into the wounds of the Rossoneri fans.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, Juventus are indeed looking at Tomori to strengthen the defence. The Englishman hasn’t started a league game since October 6, only playing a total of eleven minutes after that (9 against Cagliari and 2 against Verona).
Indeed, Matteo Gabbia and Malick Thiaw have become the undisputed starters with just two goals conceded in the last five games (both against Atalanta, the best attack in the league). It would make little sense for Fonseca to switch now, in other words.
That being said, as the report concludes, Milan fans don’t have to be too worried about a departure as the schedule will be very busy after the break. The Rossoneri will be busy on four fronts: the league (in 8th place currently), the Champions League (Girona and Dinamo Zagreb), the Supercoppa Italiana (semi-final against Juve and the potential final), and the Coppa Italia (Roma in the quarters).
Tomori, therefore, will be very useful for Milan and Fonseca – who have no intention of strengthening a rival mid-season.
