Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Genk are eyeing up a move for Charleroi top scorer Daan Heymans. While the side currently have a strong squad, they see Heymans as a player that can provide competition and cover in attacking midfield, while the player himself is said to be looking for a step-up after three seasons with Charleroi. Given that his contract expires at the end of the 2025/2026 season, the Zebras may well be forced to sell the 25-year-old this summer.

Heymans currently leads the side with 11 league goals this season. This has been his best return in terms of goals in Belgian football since the 2020/2021 season where he played for Beveren and scored nine in 34 games. Following that season he earned a move to Italy to join Venezia, but struggled to make an impact. After just one goal and 10 appearances he was loaned to Charleroi before joining the side permanently that summer. Heymans has played 118 games for the side and scored 28 goals.
