Brugge could find themselves four points behind Union St Gilloise before they play their game in handat the Cegeka Arena. They’ll be looking to complete a domestic double following their 2-1 cup final victory against Anderlecht last week. Romeo Vermant’s brace has now boosted hopes that Brugge can overcome Les Unionistes and lift the domestic title for the second year in a row.
HLN reports that manager Nicky Hayen is still optimistic of their fortunes in the league. “My players still believe in the title one hundred percent. The result of the match in Anderlecht could be a factor. But in any case, you have to try to win yourself. If the result there is positive for us, so much the better. But we also have to do our job.”
Genk are looking to pick themselves back up after their narrow 1-0 defeat to Union. Winless in five, manager Thorsten Fink told HLN about the squad’s hopes for the end of the season. “We are realistic, but if you win, you will come close to second place again. There is no point in calculating now. You want to end the season on a positive note. The games against Club have always been close this season. We are not far away from them. Hopefully we can play more liberated on Sunday.”
Kick off is at 18:30 CET.
