Genoa have confirmed that Patrick Vieira has been named as their new manager, with the 48-year-old taking over from Alberto Gilardino after a tough start to the season.
The Italian side have won just two of their 12 games in Serie A so far and sit 17th in the top flight, a point above Lecce in the relegation zone.
Now, they have a new coach, with Vieira being handed a two-year contract in Liguria.
He will be tasked with moving them in an upwards direction for the remainder of the campaign, as well as patching up his relationship with star striker Mario Balotelli, with the pair falling out at Nice.
