Genoa president Alberto Zangrillo tips Albert Gudmundsson and Johan Vazquez to remain at Marassi despite Inter Milan links.

The Grifone have already sold their goalkeeper Josep Martinez to the Italian champions earlier this month.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri are still keeping close tabs on another two members of Alberto Gilardino’s squad.

Inter have been tracking Gudmundsson for several months now, identifying him as their primary target to enhance their attacking ranks.

The 27-year-old has also attracted interest from other suitors following his exceptional Serie A campaign. The list includes Juventus, Napoli, Fiorentina, Lazio and Tottenham Hotspur.

Nevertheless, Zangrillo believes the striker doesn’t have to leave Genoa in order to fulfill his dreams.

“My relationship with Marotta is extraordinary, but we didn’t discuss Gudmundsson today,” said the Genoa patron while chatting with reporters after leaving the Lega Serie A meeting via FcInterNews.

“Marotta is a professional who knows much more about football than I do.

“I said that Albert must dream, but he can continue to do so at Genoa, that’s what I hope. There is no problem whatsoever, but I’m not the one who controls the market.

“My impression is that, as Gilardino said, Albert can stay in Liguria. I don’t know what would be his price tag.”

Aside from the Iceland international, Inter are also pursuing Vazquez as they look to sign a new left-footed defender.

The 25-year-old is coming off an impressive campaign with the Rossoblu and signed a contract extension until 2027.

Nevertheless, Zangrillo was much more firm when discussing the Mexico international whom he seemed certain of his stay.

“Vazquez is staying with us,” insured the Grifone patron.
