Geoffrey Kondogbia nearing Marseille move | OneFootball

According to Fabrizio Romano and Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Atletico Madrid midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia (30) is nearing a move to Olympique de Marseille.

Having officialised the arrival of their new manager, Marcelino, Marseille now look to be making moves in the transfer market. According to Romano, Les Phocéens are in advanced talks to sign the former France international, whilst the player himself, who only has one year remaining on his contract with the La Liga club, is pushing for the move.

The Italian journalist has added that Kondogbia agreed a long-term deal with Marseille last week and that negotiations over a fee, thought to be around €7m, are continuing. Aouna adds that these negotiations have almost reached a conclusion and that only the final details need to be finalised before the completion of the deal.

Kondogbia could be a replacement for Mattéo Guendouzi in Marseille’s midfield. The former Arsenal midfielder has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League this summer.
