Germany can secure top spot in their UEFA Nations League Group A3 with a win in Freiburg against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday evening. Florian Wirtz, who has recovered from an infection, is fit enough to play but whether the Bayer Leverkusen star finds a starting berth is unknown.

Coming into the game, the Germany squad was hit with injuries. Stuttgart duo Angelo Stiller and Deniz Undav both withdrew from the squad with injuries, and Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané was called up. Nico Schlotterbeck is also unavailable following his yellow card against the Netherlands.

Nagelsmann also confirmed that Oliver Baumann would start in goal with Alexander Nübel starting against Hungary on Tuesday. Defensively, Robin Gosens returns to the national team, but Maximilian Mittelstädt should retain his place with Joshua Kimmich on the opposite flank.

Tim Kleindienst should retain his place as Germany’s No. 9 with West Ham’s Niclas Füllkrug sidelined, and in place of Undav as the No. 10, Arsenal’s Kai Havertz should return to the starting lineup.

Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund) also returns to the national team and alongside Chris Führich (Stuttgart), remain attacking options for Nagelsmann.
