Roma director Florent Ghisolfi trusts Claudio Ranieri can bring ‘positive energy’ to the troubled squad and the ‘right mentality’ for tonight’s trip to Napoli.
It kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 17.00 GMT.
This is Ranieri’s debut on the Giallorossi bench, albeit his third different stint as coach of the club he has always supported.
More importantly, he is the fourth different boss of 2024 after Jose Mourinho, Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric.

“It has been difficult to be happy in the last few weeks, but we must maintain some positive energy,” Ghisolfi told Sky Sport Italia.
“The coach asked everyone to wear this jersey with heads held high, with pride. We’ve sensed great concentration in recent weeks at Trigoria and hope to see a different Roma this evening.”
Ranieri seems to have changed the system over to a four-man defence, with Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nicolò Pisilli supporting Artem Dovbyk, but is there the risk that the centre-forward might be a bit too isolated?
“I think it is normal to play looking for more solidity, to be more of a team, but there is a lot of quality behind Dovbyk like Pisilli, Pellegrini and El Shaarawy. More than the tactics, I feel what we need to get a result in Naples is the right mentality, determination and aggression,” added Ghisolfi.
“We want to do it for our fans, who are not here today, but we feel how important they are for us.”
The sale of tickets was banned to all those resident in Rome due to the long history of violence between the rival sets of supporters.
