According to L’Équipe, Gianluigi Donnarumma (25) was absent from Paris Saint-Germain training on Friday ahead of their match against Brest. The Italian international’s absence is related to his status as a new father after his wife recently gave birth to a boy called Leo.

Donnarumma’s absence from training ahead of Les Parisiens against Les Pirates has casted doubt over his availability and selection for the first Ligue 1 match after the international break. The 25-year-old stopper was in action for Italy during the break and made two appearances in their victories against France and Israel in the UEFA Nations League.

Safonov set for potential debut

With Donnarumma’s availability in doubt, this could see Luis Enrique hand a potential debut to summer recruit Matvey Safonov (25). The Russian goalkeeper is a new arrival at the Parc des Princes after his summer move from Krasnodar. The Ligue 1 champions paid €20m to secure the services of Safonov.
