It seems that AC Milan isn’t the only team from Italy interested in Giovanni Reyna's services. In fact, they aren’t even the only team in the city interested! Inter Milan blog Sempreinter reports that Inter Milan is targeting certain United States players in hopes of bolstering market growth abroad ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup this summer and the FIFA World Cup next summer. Both competitions will be hosted in the United States of America. In addition to PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi, Inter seems to be also keeping tags on Borussia Dortmund’s Gio Reyna.

Inter looks to follow in the footsteps of fellow Serie A teams Juventus and AC Milan, who have successfully acquired prominent US Men’s National Team players like Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic, respectively. With those players came swaths of new Serie A fans, and Inter aimed to join the trend.

Gio Reyna would be a practical target for the Italian side, as he’ll be entering his final year of contract with Borussia Dortmund. Despite his potential, Reyna has yet to solidify himself within BVB’s ranks across multiple seasons and managers. Therefore, a departure this summer is very likely. The USMNT International's valuation sits around 15 million euros, but it's unclear what Dortmund's asking price would be, given the player's young age and potential.

Gio Reyna has made 142 appearances in Black and Yellow since making his senior debut in 2019, scoring nineteen, including two this season. Reyna typically plays the best in a traditional ten role, but his attacking versatility allows him to play on either wing as well. Unfortunately for BVB fans, his inconsistency and injury issues remain his greatest weaknesses.
