Davide Calabria has spent over 15 years at AC Milan, but it seems increasingly likely that he is heading into his last few months, if he even stays that long.
As Il Giornale (via MilanNews) point out this morning, Calabria’s contract expires next June and at the moment there doesn’t seem to be any chance of a renewal. It seems more a case of when and not if the departure will occur.
The Milan captain would like to say goodbye at the end of the season, while the directors wouldn’t mind a sale in January so as to obtain a small amount to invest immediately in the winter transfer campaign.
Calabria is admired by Como, Galatasaray and some Saudi clubs which means that he might well have a choice when it comes to where his future is. Sadly for the boyhood Milan fan, though, it seems his beloved club have no intention of keeping him.
This is not an easy season for the 28-year-old who has been overtaken in the pecking order by Emerson Royal, now the undisputed starter on the right. Out of 11 league appearances, the Italian has been a starter just twice (in the first two Serie A matches against Torino and Parma in August).
