Juventus are still pursuing a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for former Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar, and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli hopes that one of his first team scouts can be a secret weapon in unlocking a deal between the two clubs.

Juventus are on the lookout for at least one new defender in the January transfer window to cover for Bremer and Juan Cabal, who have both suffered cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries.

Several names, including a long list from the Premier League, have been linked with a January move to Turin, but Skriniar has been described as the ‘dream’ option by multiple Italian outlets.

How Juventus hope to unblock negotiations for Skriniar

The Slovakian centre-back joined PSG on a free from Inter last summer, and as there was no transfer fee involved, the Parisians were prepared to dish out a salary worth a reported €10m per season before bonuses.

The salary is one of the issues that Juventus face, on top of the fact that PSG would prefer to sell Skriniar permanently, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

La Gazzetta suggests that Giuntoli will look to capitalise on his ‘strong’ working relationship with PSG sporting director Luis Campos.

Matteo Serra, who previously worked for PSG, was appointed as first-team scout by Giuntoli over the summer and has been described as Juve’s secret weapon in their proposed negotiations.
