Barcelona fans have reason to cheer as young forward Lamine Yamal is making significant progress in his recovery.
In fact, according to reports from MARCA, the 17-year-old has returned to group training as Barcelona gear up for their next La Liga clash against Las Palmas.
This marks a crucial step in Yamal’s rehabilitation process, and the club is optimistic about his inclusion in the squad for Saturday’s match.
It must be noted that Yamal sustained a grade 1 syndesmosis injury in his right ankle during Barcelona’s Champions League encounter with Red Star.
This setback forced him to sit out the last three matches for his club, in addition to missing international duty.
Earlier this month, Barcelona announced that the talented winger would need two to three weeks to recover fully. True to the timeline, Yamal is now in the final stages of his recovery, with promising signs of a return to action.

Until now, the youngster had been training separately to ensure proper healing of his ankle. However, during Wednesday morning’s session, he joined part of the group’s drills, a clear indication that he is close to regaining full fitness.
While he is not yet back to 100%, the intention is to have him ready for the Las Palmas game this weekend. His presence in the squad would be a welcome boost for Hansi Flick’s side, which has struggled with consistency in recent matches without the forward.
Yamal’s absence has been felt in key fixtures, including the defeat to Real Sociedad, the draw against Celta Vigo, and the Champions League victory over Brest.
Despite these challenges, the team has managed to stay competitive. Following the Brest match, manager Hansi Flick personally addressed Yamal on the pitch, expressing confidence in the player’s return and his potential availability for the upcoming match.
As the young winger inches closer to full fitness, Barcelona can look forward to his electrifying performances on the field, hoping he will make an immediate impact upon his return.
