Gotham FC vs Orlando Pride: How to watch, time, more as team celebrates Kelley O’Hara

This weekend, NJ/NY Gotham FC will play their final home game of the NWSL regular season.  The team will welcome the Orlando Pride, the only side they have lost to in all competitions since returning from the Olympic break.  The Bats have gone 8-1-3 in the NWSL and CONCACAF W Champions Cup and then 6-1-1 in the NWSL.

For the longest time, it seemed nobody would beat the once-unbeaten Orlando.  However, Portland Thorns FC recently won against the Pride, proving they are beatable.  That is why Gotham FC will try to do everything they can to beat the visitors.  They recently clinched a home playoff game after the win against the Chicago Red Stars, and are currently fighting for second place.  Since the team can finish second, third, or fourth in the standings, winning the final two fixtures would help them have a chance at second.

Meanwhile, Gotham will also utilize the match to celebrate not only the fans, but Kelley O’Hara.  The USWNT and NWSL legend is retiring and recently was put on the season-ending injury list.  She might have played her last game, but the mark she had on the growth of women’s soccer will forever be celebrated and cherished.  The NJ/NY side will celebrate the star before and after the game, and she will also light the torch.

Supporters can celebrate O’Hara on Fan Appreciation Night and “leave farewell messages for O'Hara on her autograph wall at Fan Fest.”  The celebratory night will hopefully lead Gotham FC to a win over Orlando while also extending the unbeaten streak to ten.
