The good times will not end as NJ/NY Gotham FC is coming off another win, extending the unbeaten streak to nine games. The Bats comfortably beat the Chicago Red Stars 2-0 thanks to some late goals. They are now heading into the final match of the group round of the CONCACAF W Champions Cup and will play the most difficult game of the tournament.
Gotham FC will finish the group round against Tigres UANL Femenil from Liga MX Femenil. The team sits in first place in league play and the Champions Cup. The Mexican side has won all three of their matches thus far, while the NJ/NY team is 2-0-1. Therefore, they will need to beat Tigres if they want to finish at the top of Group A. A draw would not be enough. At the very least, thanks to goal differential, the ladies will finish in the top two and move on in the Cup. C.F. Monterrey Femenil would need to score double-digit goals to have a chance at second.
Still, Gotham would love to end the group round with a win. Their recent form makes that promising, for they have been outplaying opposing sides. At the same time, the goal-scoring struggles did emerge again during the Chicago match. Yes, the ladies won, but the game was scoreless until a late penalty kick was awarded. It would be better for the Bats to play similarly to how they played against Frazsiers Whip Football Limited and Bay FC.
There is also a major game against the Orlando Pride this weekend. Juan Carlos Amorós will have to be smart with who he names to the Starting XI against Tigres while keeping the NWSL fixture in mind.
8:00 PM ET, with an expected kickoff time a little after 8:00 PM ET

Gotham FC fans can follow the game via Gotham FC’s X account. In addition, websites like ESPN and the NWSL will have commentary feeds during the match.
There are concerns about Tierna Davidson and her injury status. The center-back came off at halftime against the Red Stars after she likely suffered a hamstring injury. Yet, if the Gotham FC player is okay, it might be smart to rest her on Wednesday.
