MIAMI – Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, Grenada, and Haiti all picked up victories as the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League continued Friday, with four matches in League B.

Grenada and Saint Lucia earned opening wins in Group B action at Kirani James Athletics Stadium in St. George's, Grenada. Haiti and Sint Maarten made statements with their victories in Group C at Estadio Centroamericano in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.

Saint Lucia vs. Curaçao

Saint Lucia won 2-1 against Curaçao in the first-ever Nations League encounter between the two nations.

Arkell Jude-Boyd opened the scoring in the 24’ when he received a long ball and muscled off a defender on his way into the box, poking it through the keeper’s legs.

In the second half, Jude-Boyd nearly collected a brace, but Eloy Room made a massive save for Curaçao.

Caniggia Elva eventually doubled the lead for Saint Lucia in the 55’, tapping in a bouncing ball at the far post.

Curaçao managed to get on the scoresheet off a set piece in the 63’, as Joshua Brenet flicked in a great pass from Leandro Bacuna.

Sint Maarten vs. Aruba

Sint Maarten earned a 2-nil win against Aruba to begin its campaign with three points.

The two sides were in a stalemate for 80 minutes as Tyrell Richardson and Matthew Lentink displayed brilliant goalkeeping, with countless saves in both players' bids for a clean sheet.

Gerwin Lake, who entered the game as a substitute, delivered an absolute banger from way outside of the box to break the deadlock in the 81’. Lake has now scored in all four editions of the tournament.

Ronan Olivacce struck a second for Sint Maarten 90'+3, after Chovanie Amatkarijo made a run into the box to assist the insurance goal.

Saint Martin vs. Grenada

Grenada earned a 2-nil win against Saint Martin to earn the top spot in Group B.

Lucas Akins opened the scoring in the 5’ after pouncing on a giveaway by the Saint Martin defense.

Regan Charles-Cook was a factor all game, pressuring Saint Martin, and was rewarded in the 38’ with a goal of his own to secure the full three points.

Saint Martin pushed a bit offensively in the second half, but Chad Phillip was phenomenal in the net, making numerous saves to earn the clean sheet.

Puerto Rico vs. Haiti

Haiti’s return to League B began with a 4-1 win over Puerto Rico to rise to first place in Group C.

Puerto Rico struck first as Gerald Diaz pounced on a rebound in the 29’, following a Ricardo Rivera bicycle kick attempt.

Danley Jean Jacques equalized for Haiti in the 51’, connecting perfectly with a corner kick with a one-time hit for the tying goal.

Frantzdy Pierrot extended the lead for Haiti in the 60’ to put away his 8th all-time CNL goal.

Don Louicius added a third for the visitors in the 76’ to further the lead for Haiti following an efficient sequence from a goal kick.

Duckens Nazon added a fourth in 83’ to put the bow on the Haitian comeback and the three-point start on the nation’s quest to return to League A.
