Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has admitted that he has not yet reached a decision on the participation of Fermín López in the club’s upcoming showdown with Real Madrid.
Fermín, for his part, of course played a starring role on the continent during the week.
Restored to Barcelona’s XI against Bayern Munich, the 21-year-old notched a pair of assists, en route to an eventual 4-1 Champions League rout.
The fact remains, however, that this was Fermín’s first start of what has been an injury-plagued opening to the campaign.
Speaking during his pre-Clásico press conference on Friday, Hansi Flick therefore admitted that he has not yet made a final call on whether or not the Spanish international will feature from the off once more at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The leading alternative, it is understood, would be Dani Olmo.
“I haven’t decided yet whether Fermín will start at the Bernabéu,” Flick began. “He contributed massively against Bayern. We are very happy with him.”
