The Blaugrana head into proceedings aware that a return to winning ways is something of a must, after slipping to an opening day loss at the hands of AS Monaco two weeks ago.
And efforts towards as much could yet be aided by a player yet to take to the pitch in Barca’s colours this season.
Speaking during a press conference on Monday afternoon, Hansi Flick confirmed that Frenkie de Jong – sidelined since April with an ankle injury – is back available for selection, and could in turn play a part against Young Boys:
“We need fresh legs. Frenkie de Jong’s return is great news. Even if it’s just for five or ten minutes. It’s a reason for joy for the whole team. If he gets the chance, he’ll play.”
