Hansi Flick likely to make at least 5 changes in his Barcelona lineup for the Girona game | OneFootball

FC Barcelona had to play their last La Liga match against Osasuna in far from ideal conditions, as there was not enough of a break between that match and the last games of the March international break.

The scheduling of the game on 27th March meant several Blaugrana players were without sufficient rest for this game, and one of the most important players in the team, Raphinha, was unable to participate in this game. Similarly, Ronald Araujo, who also arrived very late ahead of this game, also remained on the bench.

In addition to these two players, Flick also decided to keep Robert Lewandowski on the bench, as Ferran Torres started in his position. Similarly, Pau Cubarsi, who had faced some physical problems in the last international break, was also on the bench. Eric Garcia replaced him in the starting lineup.

As SPORT has noted, the upcoming league match against Girona can see all of these important players return to the starting lineup, and there can be up to five total changes in Flick’s lineup for this game than the last game.

One of these changes will be forced on Flick, as Dani Olmo suffered an injury playing against Osasuna, and is set to remain on the sidelines for around 3 weeks. To replace him, the German tactician can either move Raphinha to his position, or Fermin or Gavi will be brought into the starting lineup.

Thus, Araujo, Cubarsi, Fermin, Raphinha, and Lewandowski will be the new names in the starting lineup for the Girona game, who will replace Eric Garcia, Inigo Martinez, Olmo, Ferran, and possibly Gavi.

Meanwhile, even more changes cannot be ruled out if the Barcelona coach decides to rest other starters, like Jules Kounde or Lamine Yamal, especially keeping in view the highly hectic schedule his team is facing in the coming weeks.
