Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick on Wednesday night continued to play a risky game with young attacker Lamine Yamal.

As much came by way of Flick’s usage of the Spanish sensation.

Barcelona, of course, marked their return to action late last night.

Fresh off six successive wins to open the La Liga campaign, the Blaugrana welcomed Getafe to Catalunya’s capital, for another league clash.

And, when all was said and done, the evening’s hosts kept alive and well their flawless start to the term.

A solitary goal proved all that was required to put Getafe to the sword, netted by Robert Lewandowski inside the 20-minute mark.

And yet, on an otherwise positive night’s work for Barca on Wednesday, many of a Blaugrana persuasion were nevertheless quick to express their concerns.

This came owing to boss Hansi Flick’s ongoing refusal to rest the aforementioned Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine saw out the full 90 minutes once more against Getafe, meaning, across his side’s first seven La Liga fixtures, the explosive attacker has been off the pitch for just five minutes.

Amid the ongoing injury crisis in the playing squad in Catalunya, and with Lamine’s importance growing all the time, calls in turn mounted heading into Wednesday’s matchup for the 17-year-old to be afforded at least a breather for the game’s closing stages.

After he instead played through the full-time whistle, before being spotted limping down the tunnel post-match, however, Hansi Flick’s usage of Lamine came under the microscope once more.

Safe to say, should the Euro 2024 winner suffer any sort of significant injury moving forward, his manager will have more than a few angry Barcelona fans to answer to…
