Barcelona’s heartbreaking defeat to Inter Milan in midweek has gravely impacted the confidence and morale in the dressing room.
Although Barcelona players remain upbeat about their chances of winning the league title, any mishap against Real Madrid this weekend could spell trouble for the Catalans.
As Barça approach this crucial encounter, it appears Flick is more concerned about fatigue than mentality.
According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t FCB World), Hansi Flick is concerned about player fatigue as the team prepares for the crucial El Clasico against Real Madrid.
It appears the demanding schedule is taking its toll, with several players showing signs of wear despite no new injuries being reported.
During the Inter match, Inigo Martinez was substituted due to muscle discomfort, while Pedri and Gerard Martin finished the game visibly exhausted. However, the trio is expected to recover in time for the Real Madrid clash.

The medical staff is closely monitoring three players on the injury list. Alejandro Balde is the most likely to return soon, potentially bolstering the defence.
Meanwhile, Pablo Torre and Marc Casado are progressing, with Casado being a possible option for the upcoming derby against Espanyol.
Unfortunately, Jules Kounde, Marc Bernal, and Dani Rodriguez will miss the Real Madrid game, as they are set to undergo surgery for dislocated shoulders sustained in the earlier match against Valladolid.
Flick’s primary concern remains managing the squad’s energy levels after such a physically demanding week. The extended minutes against Inter have raised questions about how Barcelona will cope with Real Madrid’s high-intensity style.
However, Barcelona have proven time and time again that they are more than capable of dealing with a gruelling schedule and it will be surprising to see the Catalans show any signs of fatigue this weekend.
