Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have well and truly taken the La Liga title race back in their grasp and solidified a three-point lead at the top of the standings with last night’s win over Osasuna.

Their resurgence in the title race, needless to say, has only been made possible owing to their stellar run in 2025 where they are yet to lose a game across all competitions.

In fact, their recent form sees them draw closer to many clubs’ records in La Liga and cements the team’s place as one of the most lethal Barcelona teams in recent years.

Nearing big records

Barcelona are currently undefeated in 19 games across all competitions with their last defeat coming against Atletico Madrid late in December.

The number places them amongst some of the greatest teams to have donned the Blaugrana colours. Notably, Ernesto Valverde and Luis Enrique took their teams 23 and 39 games unbeaten in 2018-19 and 2015-16 respectively.

If Barcelona do not lose to Girona later this week, in fact, they will overtake the nearest record of Tata Martino’s team which went 20 games unbeaten in 2013-14.

In terms of consecutive victories, Barcelona have strung together eight consecutive wins in La Liga since the draw against Getafe earlier this year.

The record on that front lies with Pep Guardiola whose team in 2010-11 went 16 games unbeaten. With ten more league games to go this season, Flick and Co. have a realistic chance of overtaking the legendary manager’s record.

Finally, Barcelona’s goalscoring tally this season has been a major talking point and a pivotal part of the team’s success.

They have already scored 133 goals with 78 in La Liga but are still considerably away from breaking the record held by Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid who scored 121 league goals in 2010-11.
