Harry Maguire just achieved something in six minutes that Rasmus Hojlund hasn’t in the last 15 matches

Manchester United fell to their 13th Premier League defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest this evening.
A narrow 1-0 scoreline was enough for the hosts to claim a crucial three points on their home turf, leaving Forest eight points clear of Chelsea before they face Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
The sole goalscorer on the night was none other than Carrington graduate Anthony Elanga, who rose to the occasion to punish his former club with a scintillating counter-attack and finish inside five minutes.
Yet, there’s certainly a case to be made for United being hugely unlucky to not take anything from the affair. They had 23 shots to Forest’s six, albeit only six were on target, 69 per cent of possession, a higher passing accuracy (86 per cent) and more passes in total (643).

A promising display ultimately means very little to Ruben Amorim when no points were added to United’s dismal tally, although supporters have seemingly taken a glass-half-full approach and decided to give credit where it’s due.
Rasmus Hojlund endured yet another blank 45 minutes of action after entering the fray at the interval in place of Manuel Ugarte. He failed to find the target, registering just one blocked shot during his cameo, had only 16 touches and lost possession three times.
Post-match, The xG Philosophy shared a statistic that seems almost inconceivable upon the first read. The account posted: “Harry Maguire accumulated more xG in Added Time against Nott’m Forest than Rasmus Hojlund has in his last 15 appearances.”
Injury time lasted only six minutes before Jared Gillett blew his whistle to signal the end of the clash. In the dying embers, Maguire saw an effort somehow cleared off of the goalline by Forest’s stalwart defender Murillo, who earned the highest Sofascore rating of any player on the field tonight.
