Knibbs sent a message to the Royals' supporters after Saturday's draw away at the Lamex Stadium.

Reading midfielder Harvey Knibbs has taken to social media to praise his team's second-half effort during their clash against Stevenage.

Posting on X after the Royals' 1-1 draw at the Lamex Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Knibbs also revealed that he thought his team had picked up an important point on the road.

Ahead of their clash in Hertfordshire, it was difficult to predict what the scoreline would be.

The Berkshire outfit don't have the best away record and haven't won that often away from home under Ruben Selles.

They did, however, secure a victory away at Exeter City last month and with Boro not exactly pulling up any trees this term, many away fans would have been hoping to see their team pick up three points on the board.

But they found themselves 1-0 down in the 20th minute, with Dan Kemp firing home from a cross after being left unmarked.

Charlie Savage had a chance to equalise before the interval after being played through by Lewis Wing, but he was unable to convert in the end.

They were, however, able to secure an equaliser, with Chem Campbell's perseverance allowing him to get into the box and pass the ball to Knibbs, whose first-time finish levelled up the game.

Campbell had a chance to win it late on, but his shot was saved in the end and the visitors had to settle for a point.

Considering the away side were trailing for much of the game, they will be fairly satisfied with a point, although they would have wanted to secure all three with two more difficult away league games coming up at Peterborough United and Barnsley.

Currently sitting in ninth place, the Royals are in a better position than many people would have expected, with the Berkshire outfit only able to sign one player during the summer window despite losing quite a few first-teamers since the end of last season.

Knibbs will be happy that he's managed to get himself on the scoresheet again, scoring another important goal to earn the Royals a point.

The ex-Cambridge United man has made several important contributions since he arrived in Berkshire and after his latest goal, he posted a message to supporters on social media.

The Royals have done well, considering their lack of squad depth.

Andre Garcia has performed well for his age, but Jeriel Dorsett was clearly a big miss and it's a major boost that he's back for the Royals.

The right-back area is also a problem, with Michael Craig continuing to fill in there, even though he's done a respectable job.

And without Sam Smith, things have been fairly tricky, although he hasn't been out for that long.

Under the on and off-field circumstances, Selles and his team are doing a good job, but they need to try and build on it.
